WALLS: PART DEUX

As you can see, the second story walls are going up with great speed. Keeping in mind that they'll be a 12' radiused sliding glass door on the second floor, all that's left is few more walls and that'll be it!! They then will work on the panels for the roofing. The house is taking shape as is looking ginormous. Not only are they forming the outside walls, but all of the interior rooms are now fully defined.

This will be the window in our master bedroom's sitting room. We now tower over the neighbors and can easily keep an eye on them!!

I think this flurry of lumber is the door opening to the master bedroom. Lots of innocent trees gave their all so we could build this maze.

Here's a picture of our daughter Sarah all gussied-up for her high school prom. She's wearing a tiara (and not much else), because she was one of the contenders to be chosen the queen. Though she did not end up winning, she's still more that just a princess to us.

Graphitti Designs donated some shirts to our friends at DC Comics for the annual New York city aids walk. A great group of people all dressed as their favorite heroes. If you wish to donate or find out about their organization, check out: https://www.kintera.org/faf/search/searchTeamPart.asp?ievent=262058&lis=1&kntae262058=5A25936C731A43D3AA7645BEC4DC53F4&supId=0&team=2709354&cj=Y

Gina and I are off to Philadelphia first thing in the morning for yet another comic convention. Before we go, here's a couple more pics that hopefully will tide you over 'til we return.

This is the reason why we'll be coming back!!

WE'VE GOT WALLS...KINDA'!!

Yup, your eyes deceive you not...it's actually starting to look like a house!! Here's a shot looking at the front of the house. From left to right we start with the driveway (which is the open area.) The first opening you then see will be one of the windows for the guest bedroom. Next to that, the large opening is where the front door will someday be. Continuing right, we have a side window to what will be a small room where I can hide and watch movies with the volume cranked up to 11...or maybe even 12. It's our low-budget version of a "home theatre". No projection TV, 7.1 super-surround,Dolby digital doo-hickies or five skillion dollar equipment here. Just a place where that'll be ideal to watching flicks under the best conditions possible.

Here's the front portion of that same room. This facing is parallel to the street and will have two windows. Directly above this room, will be the kitchen and dining room. Maybe we can install some sort of dumbwaiter so we can quickly move food and drink from the kitchen to this room? I'm sure it can't cost more than a few thousand bucks. Why be fiscally responsible now?

Yet another second floor shot showing our fine wood flooring. Notice they put a partial covering over the stairwell. I guess they did that after three or four of the workers took the quick way down. I suggested to Gina we put a pole in this area. It'll make going down so much quicker...and could be a popular entertainment center at parties!!

Proud parent congrats go out to Francesca (for those of you without a program or who are not family-members, this in our daughter), who continues her rise in both the fashion and literary worlds. Her editorial tasks as "Charities Editor" at GENLUX magazine expand in the new May 2008 issue. She has three pages of content and makes her mom and I proud. I predict a Pulitzer in the years ahead!!

While on the topic of family achievements, Gina and I were watching one of her favorite new, non-CSI, Law & Order or NCIS-type shows, The Big Bang Theory, when one of the shirts we produce, made a guest appearance.

In show filled with nerds and computer geeks, I'm not certain if having one of the characters wearing our shirt is a compliment or something I should be embarassed about. If Francesca can educate and inform the fashion concious, I guess I can cater to a crowd approximate 180 degrees apart. Yes, Graphitti Designs dresses the comic book industry and creative geeks all over the world...and we've been doing so for over twenty-five years. Though contrary to Ces' direction in life, my only defense is we'll I'm on TV and you're not!! And no, I did not stick out my tongue and I was not gloating when writing that last line...really!!

I will leave you with a set of pictures taken from the rear of the house. To the left is the garage with the large opening in the center, being the future home for the ever important backdoor. All that's important at this juncture is we do have walls. It's those little things that are important at times like this!!
