Lots of progress has been made on the construction while we were out of town. The surveyor markings all evolved and were fleshed-out into wood forms for the footings. Once the forms were all laid out, they began trenching for both the footing pours and the rough plumbing. We've been told that they will be pouring the concrete for the footings next week. This is all happening pretty quickly (or at least quicker than getting the damned funding!!). After the footings dry, they prepare the area for the pouring of the slab itself. The slab dries, they start framing and within weeks, the house will be complete and ready for us to move-in!! Just kidding!!
These boards mark the front left corner of the house. "Shit, for some reason I thought the ceiling was gonna' be a little taller than this!!"
The garage is to the left and the back corner of the house is to the right. One only hopes they remove all this silly string before we move-in!!
These are either alien crop-circles or the foundation for our spiral staircase. I kinda' hope it's the aliens!!
This radius will one day be the front entrance. The trench in front is the start of the moat. Anyone know where we can get some hungry 'gators?

Here's the obligatory "artsy-fartsy" shot. I kept telling Gina that more than just my vocabulary was being enhance during the time spent working with Kevin Smith!!
This is shot from the front right corner of the house-to-be and will someday be my own personal Fortress of Solitude where I can watch movies at high volume (when Gina's sleeping) and even hang some of the art I've acquired over the years. Note that curved entrance area again. Yes, this will be a house one of these days!!
